I credit the individuals below with providing me with my Word foundation, for helping me to understand conversion methods and issues, and for teaching and creating automation tools. These are my "go to" people (especially Greg Maxey and Lene Fredborg); I hope you will consider making them yours.

Kenyon, Charles K., Lawyer, Webmaster, http://www.addbalance.com/word/
Mr. Kenyon , a Wisconsin attorney, has curated an enormous site devoted to Word.
In the early 2000's, Microsoft maintained a legal-specific site relating to Microsoft Word during "The Great Migration" from WordPerfect to Word. That site longer exists. Mr. Kenyon has preserved much of that content and more! His site includes tutorials, templates, macros, and site recommendations. He preserved a discussion about style naming conventions here. The consensus: Name styles according to their function in the document not their appearance.
AddBalance.com is what the Smithsonian would be if that institution devoted itself to Word.

(Back in the day, people used to say: "If you want to know what you're talking about, get you a Que book." So I did. Always a minimum of 500 pages.)
